Birchbox No More

After receiving the May 'Gossip Girl' Birchbox I have made the final decision to cancel my subscription. This has to be the worst sample box I have received thus far. I've let Birchbox slide with some crappy samples in the past, but I've decided to make the switch to Glossybox because it's now in the US. Here are the samples I received in my box. The Dr. Jart BB cream? It has nothing in it either. I don't know if this is how they all came out but I had to ring the entire thing and I had 1/5 the amount of a dime in there. That's it. I don't want to pay for samples like that.

Canceling my subscription was the most freeing feeling...I think that's a sign? I'm excited for Glossybox! I don't think anyone can top TestTube for me in quality and amount, but you never know.

What do you guys subscribe too?

Review: My New Perfume Obsession

Alright, so I never buy celebrity perfumes – with the exception of Curious by Britney Spears (which was my first perfume ever). So I was completely surprised when I got a whiff of Taylor Swift's Wonderstuck perfume. It was love at first scent. The scent is powerful at first, but as you move and walk around the power settles down into something that's wearable. It's a frangrance filled with freesia, green tea, green apple, apple blossom, raspberry and dewberry. So it's more fruity than it is floral which is not something I normally wear. I'm all for the crisp and casual scents, like Daisy by Marc Jacobs or Lucky You by Lucky Brand. But this will fit nicely in my collection (I'm kinda a perfume collector?) and I will be wearing it a lot for the upcoming days and weeks. You can buy the perfume at Sephora for different sizes that range between $18 - $59.50. I highly suggest you get a sample and walk around with it – that's what I did. I almost ran out of my sample because I kept using it.

The only downside to this perfume is how long the scent last, which is a few hours at most. I suggest you get an atomizer (on sale on sephora.com right now for $3) and pour some of the perfume in there so you can take it with you and reapply as needed!

Another thing Sephora has for those who have a hard time deciding what perfumes to buy is something called 'Sephora's Favorites Deluxe Sampler'. How it works is you buy it for $50 and you get ten perfume samples that range from all different types of scents. You try them out and see which one you like the best out of the ten. Once you've figured that ou, there's a voucher in the box that you can redeem at a Sephora for a full sized perfume from the box. I think this is great for people who can never really decide what they want? That way if you completely love the scent you got, next time you can spend $10 more and get it in the large quantity.

But for now, this perfume will be my number one (sorry other perfumes).

My Makeup Setup!

I've been asked where do I keep all my makeup so I figured I would make a post to show you guys. I have it set up in my room, out of the way of everything. It's nice to have it outside of my bathroom, so the water doesn't harm my products and brushes! But I got this container at Target, both of them actually. I think the small three drawer one was like $9 and the big five drawer one was $20...basically both really inexpensive.

Review: LUSH Cosmetics Hair Products

Hi guys! So I wanted to talk to you about some of my favorite LUSH products. If you aren’t familiar with the brand, it’s fresh handmade cosmetics, and they’re fabulous. I’ve recently switched to using LUSH hair products for my shampoo and conditioner and I couldn’t be happier.

I am IN LOVE with this shampoo. It’s almost a cross between and solid and a liquid shampoo? In the shampoo, it’s like a watery paste. There are little salt crystals that dissolve as you rub it into your hair. It’s exfoliates your scalp and gives your hair so much more ‘umph’, that’s the only way I could describe it. It will add some shine to your hair as well, so that’s a bonus. But I don’t recommend using this every time you wash your hair, just to give your hair a little break from the crystals and the deep wash. Obviously you shouldn’t wash your hair every day because it’s bad for your hair, and if you have oily hair I think this helps a lot to fix that because I find myself with less oils in my hair after using this.

This is the other shampoo that I use, when I switch off from using BIG all the time. It’s a sweet little liquid shampoo and has a really delicate and nice scent to it. It’s not powerful, so it’s not going to overwhelm you, but the scent will stay nicely on your until you use other products to style it or whatnot. I don’t like scents that are too powerful on my hair, because I feel like they can clash with my perfumes sometimes? This doesn’t do that. It gives my hair a rich feeling. After washing it, my hair isn’t silky soft to the touch while I’m in the shower (same with BIG) BUT THAT DOES’T MEAN IT WON’T BE WHEN IT DRIES. Don’t let that scare you. It means it’s just not filled with excess oils or anything like that. But when it dries, your hair is left soft with a sweet sugary scent. Oh, and I bought the smallest bottle to try it a few months ago, and since I’m using it as a backup to BIG, I’ve barely hit halfway. So you just need a quarter sized amount and it will last you a long time.

This is my favorite conditioner out of any brand of conditioners that I have ever tried. I know that’s a big statement but the results you’ll get with this product will show you what I’m talking about. It’s a very creamy conditioner, meaning it doesn’t lather in any way. You apply it and rub it into your scalp, and you just have to push it around to where you think it needs to go. It will wash out nicely, but it’s not until you’re out of the shower and you’ve given your head a shake that you’ll actually see the results. As it dries, your hair becomes so soft and sweet smelling. I towel dry my hair when I first get out of the shower and then when I take it out of the towel, my hair feels amazing. If I want to style it and dry it with a blow dryer, I can just feel my hair getting softer with the heat. Even if you air dry, you get a great result. Overall, if you had to get one LUSH hair product, make it this one because you won’t be sorry. my skin so soft and nice, and if you use them twice a day, your skin will be less dry and flakey quickly. With this lotion, I don’t really like the scent? I’m excited to try their other lotions, but the reason I use this one is the scent disappears in about two minutes and you’re left with the softest skin. This is why I bought it in the store. It’s not a bad scent? It’s just not one that I prefer. But the scent does go away and I even recently got my mom hooked on their lotion for how soft they make her skin. It’s really a great place to buy lotion.
